Installing The ''Roll-up'' Window Film
( On Frameless Glass )
Limited Demo Version
This limited demonstration version page is to give you an idea of how the instruction information is presented through out all the steps performed with in our Auto Film Installation Tutorial website. This tint instructions demo page basically demonstrates how to install previously cut window tint on pre prepared frameless door windows.
Once previous page steps are performed and you have your film piece cut and trimmed, your glass is prepped and ready to go, and you have no other steps to perform but to mount the film then you're ready to actually install the cut piece. Click the button below to perform the film installation steps.

| 1 Make Sure | |
| Begin by making sure your going to peel the correct piece intended for the prepped glass your aiming for (it's a common mistake so it's worth mentioning). | ![]() |
| Step 2 |

| ''Roll-up'' Window Film (On Frameless Door Glass) |
| 2 Begin Peeling | |
| Next begin peeling the clear protective liner away from the cut film piece. Pull the clear protective liner away from the film completely and throw it in the trash not the floor. | |
| Leaving these discarded liners on the floor can, if stepped on, can make you (or your customer) slip and hurt yourself. Once removed flood the film completely with your mounting solution to deactivate the exposed sticky adhesive on the surface of the film (like getting a piece of gift wrapping tape wet-it won't stick till dry). | |
| If You Have Trouble Peeling | |
| If you have difficulty getting the clear protective liner to start peeling you can take two pieces of gift wrapping tape and apply them on either side of a corner of the film where you want to |
|
| start. Make sure that they are stuck together in a way that they hang off this corner with the tapes adhesive sides stuck to each other on the part that is hanging off. Now peel tape apart and you will find that when these two pieces of tape are pulled away from each other, they will lift the clear protective liner away from the film with ease. | |

| 3 Mist Target Glass Lightly With Mounting Solution | |
| Mist the target window to be installed to with your mounting solution to create maximum lubrication for mounting. Perform this step immediately after misting the freshly peeled film |
|
| before the misted film starts to evaporate. | |
| Step 4 |

| 4 Flush Your Finger Tips With Your Mounting Solution | |
| Now you are ready to pick this piece up and place it (mount it) on your target glass. Before touching it with your fingers, first Flush your finger tips with your mounting solution before handling any |
|
| peeled exposed film. This will wash any debris clinging to them. Even after flushing only handle the film with your finger tips on the outer edges only or the back side (side opposite the adhesive). Remember think CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. | |

| 5 Mounting The Film | |
| Carefully carry the film piece to the target glass and apply with the adhesive side facing the glass surface. Carefully work the films over laps created when cutting into the gasket channel crevasses. |
|
| When doing this, be careful to not bump gasket edges with the films edges too much. This can allow water (your mounting solution) that is puddled in your gasket channels to get sucked back under the surface of the film sometimes carrying massive amounts of debris with it. The idea to mounting film is to only let your mounting solution come out from underneath the surface and to not allow it to go back under a second time (unless your trying to relubricate the film or flush out debris by peeling the film back and flooding with your mounting solution and using gravity as your helping friend). Align the top edge of film to the top edge of the glass and give yourself a 1/16" to an 1/8" gap, backed off from the beveled edge. Make sure that no part of the films edges are hanging off the glasses beveled edge that could flap back and forth, hang up on anything, or snag in any way when rolled up or down. | |
| Step 6 |

| 6 Anchor It In Place | |
| Mist films surface to lubricate (for your squeegee) and begin squeegeeing starting from the center and working your way outwards to push the solution and air bubbles from underneath the film. On slightly |
|
| curved windows this also distributes any film stress (from curved glass) evenly eliminating any massive fingers (it's better to have several small fingers than one large one) It ought to start to look pretty good to you by now and you will begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel (if you don't see any trash under the film). | |

| ''Roll-up'' Window Film (On Framless Door Glass) |
| 7 Squeegee It And Finish It Out | |
| Perform this step and your done with it. | |
| 1st Stage |
|
| Finish this step by squeegeeing all the remaining mounting solution out from underneath the entire film's surface (via the edges). Make sure you get all the corners and tight spots as well |
|
| and no pockets of air or mounting solution is left behind. This speeds drying time. Sometimes it helps to blow hot air on it with your hair drier while squeegeeing the mounting solution out from the edges (especially on stubborn areas). Once the edges are finished out allow it to sit for five minutes or so before moving on to the next stage of finishing it out. This will allow the adhesive to start to cure a little and is helpful for the next stage. | |
| 2nd Stage |
|
| Finish it out with your bondo spreader, a hard card, or your finger nail (scraping the edges AND tight corners) while blowing hot air on it with your hair drier. Make sure all edges are adhered |
|
| COMPLETELY and that no spots remain un-adhered (held up off the glasses surface by a piece of debris). This will accelerate the curing time on the edges (and for stubborn areas as well) and eliminate peeling problems in the future when the glass is put into service. | |

| 8 Let It Dry & What To Expect | |
| Leave this window in the rolled up state for 3 to 5 days to dry. You will notice haziness, blurriness, milkyness, and water bubble appearances during this drying |
